Tales of the Necropolis Community Event

Date

August 27 @ 3:00 pm 7:00 pm

About the Community Event

Join us at the Heritage Toronto tent to explore one of the oldest cemeteries in the city and learn about some of Toronto’s heroes, champions, rebels, and leaders. We will be stationed at the Cabbagetown Farmer’s Market under the Heritage Toronto tent with historical interpretation about the legacies that made a mark on this city and rest in the Necropolis cemetery.

Guided tours will be offered at 4:00pm and 5:30pm. Tours are approximately one hour and will start and end at the Heritage Toronto tent.

Tours will be led by volunteer tour leader Gilles Huot.

These events are free and no pre-registration is required. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the tour start time.

Alternate dates

This community event will also take place on October 1 with tours at 4:00pm and 5:30pm.

Further Information

This event runs rain or shine! Tours last for approximately one hour and take place inside the Necropolis cemetery on unpaved portions with uneven ground. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and consider bringing sunscreen and water to make your tour as enjoyable as possible.
