Explore Toronto’s history from its incorporation in 1834 through the eyes of 10 of our chief magistrates, starting with the first, William Lyon Mackenzie, and including W. H. Howland, promoter of “Toronto the Good;” Tommy Church, mayor during the Anti-Greek Riots and the Second World War; and Nathan Phillips, “mayor of all the people.”
