Rail Heritage in the Junction Triangle
July 8 @ 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Join Heritage Toronto, Councillor Ana Bailão,
and the Friends of the West Toronto Railpath for the presentation of
two plaques on rail heritage in the Junction Triangle.
One of the plaques focuses on a beloved, and newly renovated neighbourhood landmark: the Wallace Street Footbridge. The other tells the history of the West Toronto Railway Diamonds and one of the busiest industrial crossroad in Toronto.
The plaque presentation will be followed by a 60-min walking tour of the West Toronto Railpath past and future, led by Councillor Ana Bailão and Scott Dobson. The tour will highlight the following sites and projects:
- The George Chuvalo Community Centre
- 362 Wallace Plaza
- The Railpath Mural Project at the Wallace Station Lofts and the Red Cross building
- and the Sterling Project
