MomenTO: Toronto’s Heritage of Innovation – Jesse Hirsh on Technology

June 24 @ 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

Free

Did you know that a Toronto electronics company developed the world’s first personal computer? Or that ours was the first city to digitally program its traffic lights? Join artist, futurist, researcher, and internet strategist Jesse Hirsh to explore the history and future of Toronto technological innovations – big and small — that have impacted Canadians.

This summer and fall, Heritage Toronto and the City of Toronto are offering a series of talks on how past innovations have shaped our present and future. Presented as part of the City of Toronto’s Canada 150 program, MomenTO: Toronto’s Heritage of Innovation showcases advances in technology, healthcare, media, and other fields.

MomenTO: Toronto’s Heritage of Innovation is part of the MomenTO program, which is produced by City of Toronto in partnership with the Province of Ontario’s Ontario150 Program and the Government of Canada.
