Hospital Archives, The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto

Toronto’s Discovery District takes its name from the multitude of healthcare discoveries made in the area’s hospitals and at the nearby University of Toronto. David Wright, Canada Research Chair in the History of Health Policy and author of the Heritage Toronto Award nominated book Sick Kids: The History of the Hospital for Sick Children, will speak on those discoveries, and will explore how and why they happened here

About David Wright: Professor David Wright holds a Canada Research Chair in the History of Health Policy at McGill University in Montreal. His book, Sick Kids: The History of the Hospital for Sick Children is nominated for a 2017 Heritage Toronto Award.

About MomenTO – Toronto’s Heritage of Innovation: This summer and fall, Heritage Toronto is offering a series of talks on how past innovations have shaped our present and future. Presented as part of the City of Toronto’s Canada 150 program, MomenTO: Toronto’s Heritage of Innovation showcases advances in technology, healthcare, media, and other fields.

MomenTO is produced by the City of Toronto in partnership with the Province of Ontario’s Ontario 150 Program and the Government of Canada.
