Downtown George Brown
July 15 @ 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
Celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary with us by exploring the life of George Brown, a Father of Confederation and the founder of The Globe and Mail. Learn about this complicated figure, an abolitionist, anti-union politician, and newspaper owner murdered by a disgruntled employee; and his impacts on our city and nation. This tour will highlight sites associated with Brown, including an interior visit of his residence, George Brown House, presented in partnership with the Ontario Heritage Trust.
On July 15th, the tour will be offered in both English and French (two separate groups, but same meeting point and same meeting time)!
